Pittsburgh Endodontist Dr. Semashko Volunteers for Yearly Free Dental Clinic

While many people give back to their local region, there’s a well-known dental professional in the Pittsburgh area who gives back to residents of Pennsylvania!

Dr. Gregory Semashko of Endodontics in Cranberry volunteers every year with MOM-n-PA, Pennsylvania’s largest free dental clinic. This clinic moves to a different Pennsylvania city each year, and then invites residents to attend to receive free care. Dental professionals, , including general dentists, endodontists, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, pediatric dentists, and dental hygienists and technicians volunteer to treat patients for two days. State-of-the-art equipment is covered by manufacturers, and sponsors donate space.

MOM-n-PA has completed nearly 26,000 free procedures on more than 7,000 patients across the state. At this point, after the 2017 mission that took place in Erie, PA, the value of care that’s been given equals $4 million.

During each clinic, dental professionals provide cleanings, fillings, root canals, and extractions to both children and adults. This year, the clinic will be held in Reading, PA, and Dr. Semashko will again be attending to treat patients.

“I truly enjoy caring for patients, and this free dental clinic is one of my favorite activities of the entire year. Usually, an endodontist’s services are used to relieve people of their tooth pain or to save their tooth. I’m so happy that I can help treat people during the clinic. I fully support the mission of MOM–n-PA, and plan to keep attending in the coming years,” said Dr. Semashko.

In addition to heading his own practice, Dr. Semashko is also is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine, Department of Endodontics, and teaches general dental residents as well as endodontic residents.

He is focused on each and every patient that comes into his office, and his treatment philosophy is the same as when he opened his business’ doors many years ago: to ensure the patient’s comfort and to provide them with great care.
