Amore Management Company to Host Veterans’ Appreciation Day for Veterans Place Residents

On Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, Amore Management Company will organize a volunteer event at Veterans Place, an organization dedicated to ending homelessness among veterans in the Pittsburgh region.

The event, which takes place right before Veterans Day, will begin with a breakfast to thank the veterans, and Amore’s 20-person volunteer staff will then spend the day assisting Veterans Place employees with landscaping and maintenance duties. Amore will also contribute equipment for the day to complete property improvements and increase curb appeal. The company’s leasing offices are collecting donations of kitchen items and cleaning supplies.

“Amore has partnered with Veterans Place because they are doing valuable work within the veterans’ community by providing services to veterans in our area, including employment and housing opportunities.  Amore is known for investing in the city and the region. We are proud to have a strong veteran employee base, and we value the contributions of all veterans,” said Frank Berceli, President and CEO of Amore. “We perform landscaping and maintenance work at our properties every day, and we’re excited and grateful to do the same for Veterans Place staff and guests. We appreciate and honor their service.”

Veterans Place offers a day program, transitional housing program, and employment for veterans. Their programs boast a high success rate, with 87% of residents gaining stable employment or receiving their pension or disability payments.

“Part of the mission of Veterans Place is to develop strong community partnerships. Community involvement provides much-needed social, financial, and career support. We’re looking forward to this community event with Amore’s staff. Their involvement and dedication to our region’s veterans are evident and show that they want to contribute to our mission by providing our veteran residents with a great place to live,” said Lauren Mitchell, Operations Assistant at Veterans Place.

Amore has served the Pittsburgh area for more than 50 years, and currently owns and / or manages more than 2,167 apartments in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
